Spartak Moscow's stumbling defence of the Russian title continued on Saturday as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by struggling Amkar Perm.

The result came just four days after Massimo Carrera's side recorded a stunning 5-1 victory over Sevilla in the Champions League.

Spartak, who are also in the same Champions League group as Liverpool, are joint-fourth in the Russian top flight, seven points adrift of Zenit St Petersburg before the leaders go to third-placed CSKA Moscow on Sunday.
