John Terry revealed on Thursday that he hopes to return from injury in time for Chelsea's decisive Champions League clash with Paris Saint Germain.

Terry hasn't played since suffering a hamstring injury during Chelsea's win against Newcastle on February 13, but the Blues skipper believes he could feature when the French champions arrive at Stamford Bridge for the last 16 second leg on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old has stepped up his rehabilitation and hinted he could even be involved against Stoke in the Premier League on Saturday.

Guus Hiddink's side trail 2-1 after the first leg against PSG and Terry's presence would be a major boost.

"PSG is the target," Terry said. "I may be involved in some capacity at the weekend, but we're just taking it day by day.

"I had a good, positive day (on Thursday) but it could flair up (on Friday) so I'm just taking it slowly."

Terry also confirmed there had been "no talks at the moment" regarding his future after he revealed in January that he had been told he wouldn't be offered a new contract when his present deal expires at the end of the season.

Chelsea have since claimed the former England centre-back's future is yet to be decided and Terry once again made it clear he would like to stay.

"I really hope (these games won't be my last for Chelsea)," he said.

"You don't know, and there's no dialogue at the moment, but that's not to say there won't be. Who knows what the future's going to hold for me?"

Terry's future will likely be resolved once Chelsea have hired a permanent manager to take over from Hiddink, who arrived in December as interim boss following Jose Mourinho's sacking.

Italy coach Antonio Conte is the current favourite, but Terry was quick to praise the impact made by Hiddink, who has lifted the team away from the relegation zone and kept them in contention in the Champions League and FA Cup.

"We've all kind of said it but the club's made that clear, he's made it clear as well (that Hiddink staying is unlikely)," Terry said.

"Certainly what he has done is put himself in the shop window. I bet there's a million clubs out there, seeing what he's done at the football club.

"Who knows? It might be an opportunity for him, or whether he'll stay in a role within the club I'm not sure. Both times Guus (has managed Chelsea he) has been perfect.

"Guus has come in and picked up the reins again and taken us in a really good direction."
