Bayern's Badstuber out for three months with broken ankle

Bayern Munich's injury crisis in defence has deepened with centre-back Holger Badstuber out for the next three months after undergoing surgery on a broken ankle, the club confirmed Saturday.
The 26-year-old Germany international has already had the surgery after being injured in the final training session for Bayern's league game at Augsburg on Sunday.
It means Badstuber now faces a race against time to be fit for Euro 2016 this June in France for world champions Germany.
With centre-backs Jerome Boateng and Javi Martinez already out long-term and Medhi Benatia only just back from injury, the news is also a blow to Bayern coach Pep Guardiola.
Bayern play Juventus away in their Champions League, last 16, first-leg match on February 23.
The Bavarian giants have signed former Germany international Serdar Tasci on loan from Spartak Moscow for the rest of the season as cover at centre-back.
Badstuber only made his return to action in November after seven months out with a torn thigh muscle which came on the back of two separate knee injuries in 2012 and 2014.
