Modric adds to Real injury issues ahead of PSG

Real Madrid injury problems continued to pile up as Luka Modric was forced off at half-time in Los Blancos' 3-1 win over Las Palmas on Saturday with a hip injury.
The Croatian is now doubtful for Madrid's crucial Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, along with a host of other Madrid stars who missed a routine win over the Canary Islanders on their first visit to the Santiago Bernabeu for 13 years.
Keylor Navas, Sergio Ramos, James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema were all absent and coach Rafael Benitez is only sure of getting Ramos back in time to face the French champions.
"Modric had pain in his hip and as is normal we didn't want to risk anything," said Benitez.
"Sergio will be available. Some of the others: Benzema, James and (Alvaro) Arbeloa trained today.
"That means their physical condition is improving, but logically it is not the same to not play for 30, or 50 days in the case of James, and then be fit to play in a competition like the Champions League."
Just like in last weekend's 2-1 win at Celta Vigo, a fast start was enough to guarantee Benitez's men the three points as goals from Isco and Cristiano Ronaldo put them into a 2-0 lead inside 15 minutes.
Hernan briefly reduced the arrears for Las Palmas, but Jese Rodriguez restored Madrid's two-goal cushion before half-time.
However, Benitez knows it will take a 90-minute display to beat PSG in the match that should decide who qualifies for the last 16 of the Champions League as group winners.
"To win and play very well in the first-half is always positive. Now we need to have more consistency," added Benitez.
"Evidently, the motivation and the quality of player we will face against PSG is very different. I hope that we can maintain the intensity and level of play from the first-half (against Las Palmas) for the full game (against PSG)."
