Schalke 04 have signed Brazilian right-back Junior Caicara from Bulgarian champions Ludogorets Razgrad, the club announced on Thursday.

Caicara, 26, will bolster a Schalke defence weakened for the start of next season by the absence of Japan's Atsuto Uchida, who underwent a knee operation earlier this month.
