Colombia international footballer James Rodriguez is not just a hit on the terraces at Real Madrid -- he has now been voted as the "ideal lover" for legions of besotted Colombian women.

The baby-faced 23-year-old striker, who shot to global fame at the World Cup last year, would be the perfect partner for an extra-marital affair, according to a survey of 3,100 women carried out by AshleyMadison.com.

"With a beautiful score of 41%, women named James Rodriguez as their ideal lover -- attractive, athletic and reserved," said the website which specialises in hooking-up lovers who want a discreet adulterous fling.

Rodriguez succeeds Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao who was Colombia's most-wanted in the last survey which took place in 2012.

However, Falcao still managed 11% of the votes this time round.
