Cruzeiro retained the Brazilian league title with two games to spare on Sunday thanks to a 2-1 victory over Goias.

Leaders of the championship since the sixth round of matches, Cruzeiro went into the match with a seven-point lead over Sao Paulo, who won 1-0 at Pele's and Neymar's old club Santos.

It was a fourth Brazilian title for Cruzeiro and was secured before their home fans at the Mineirao stadium, where Brazil lost their semi-final to Germany in July.
