Swiss squad for Euro 2016 Slovenia, San Marino qualifiers

Switzerland manager Vladimir Petkovic on Friday named his squad to face Slovenia and San Marino in their 2016 European Championship away qualifiers on October 9 in Maribor and on October 14 in Serravalle.

Petkovic saw his team lose 2-0 to England last month in Basel in their opening qualifier -- his first match at the helm.

For the upcoming matches, he largely stuck to his squad from the England match, but also opted to call up neophytes Jacques Francois Moubandje and Michael Frey.

Defender Moubandje, 24, plays for French club Toulouse.

A dual citizen of Switzerland and Cameroon, he impressed with the Swiss under-21 squad in 2012 and 2013.

Twenty-year-old forward Frey also plays in the French top flight, at Lille, and has worked his way up the ladder with Switzerland from the under-15s onwards.

Petkovic also opted to bring back Switzerland stalwart Tranquillo Barnetta for the looming qualifiers, but dropped Loris Benito, Fabian Frei and Valentin Stocker.
